At this point in the year you are probably all wondering if I shall be goin to Honduras again as I did last year, or you may just not care... No matter, I am here to write to you that I am indeed going again, this Sunday in fact and let me tell you some things that got me to where I am now.
After last year's adventure I somehow misplaced my passport and I couldn't find it no matter how hard I looked. Thus, another application was to be filled out for another passport. I did this and mailed it with plenty of time to get it before the departure from the country. About two weeks before our scheduled flight we get a letter from the U.S. Department of State saying that they need papers to show that my mother changed her name and has sole custody over me. My mother couldn't find the papers in question and she asked the county courthouse if they had any and they said no. So, my mother sent out a copy of her old and new passport explaining that they aknowledged that she had changed her name and they changed it for her in the passport so they must know somehow. My mother also now had to pay extra to mail the information and expedite the passport to us seeing as the Department of State hadn't even made it yet.
More time went by and four days before we leave we get another letter saying the passport was shipped and should get to us in five days. They had failed to expedite the passport to me. Luckily, it still only took two days to come. So now all there is to do is pack up for the trip and head out, I'm much relieved to see our flight is later than it was last year so I shall get some more sleep than I did.
Something you should know is that this blog won't be updated everyday like I would like it to. My mother found out last year that the orphanage cut the wifi so there will be no access to the internet from said location. Terribly sorry but I shall write as often as I can. Wish me luck.
